This article was really fun to write because it was about a fellow graduate student whom I had worked with in the lab of Dr. Willliam F.C. Rigby.  Dr. Sladjana Skopelja-Gardner was working on interesting facets of the immunological changes seen in cystic fibrosis (CF). The field had been stagnant for a while in terms of the interpretation of CF as an autoimmune disease. This article was really highlighting her recent work and the acceptance of a recent study into the Journal of Clinical Investigation Insight back in November 2016.
